Ecco come funziona.

(ANSA) - RIO DE JANEIRO, 24 LUG - With the inauguration of the Spazio Affari per il Made in Italy—a new coworking space dedicated to businesses—the Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro has completed the redevelopment project of Casa d’Italia, restoring one of the city’s landmark buildings to the community as a hub for the Italian-Brazilian community. “Today we have succeeded in presenting an extraordinary gift to this wonderful city: a completely renovated Casa d’Italia,” declared Massimiliano Iacchini, Consul General of Italy in Rio de Janeiro, during the ceremony, held on the newly renovated panoramic terrace. “It was a very difficult and complex undertaking, born of the enthusiasm and determination to restore this building, which turns 90 this year,” said the diplomat in his remarks, during which he also presented the book “Edifício Casa d’Italia do Rio de Janeiro: uma biografia,” dedicated to the history of the building and the restoration process that has brought it back to the center of the Italian community’s life. The centerpiece of the initiative was the new Business Space, designed to foster relationships, investments, and business opportunities between Italy and Brazil. “We’ve created a space on the eighth floor dedicated to companies that want to do business in the city for a day, a month, or even longer. We now have a true economic hub, which houses the ICE Agency, the Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce,” and numerous companies, Iacchini emphasized. “My mission is to promote Italian excellence, but I also wanted to create a place for meeting and dialogue between Italy and everyone living in Rio de Janeiro,” he added. The inauguration marks the conclusion of a revitalization project launched two and a half years ago, which included the redevelopment of the iconic Piazza Italia, the opening of the Polo ItaliaNoRio—dedicated to culture, art, design, and technology—and the launch of the School of Gastronomy and the School of Neapolitan Pizza. The evening began with a visit to the exhibition “Gente Daqui” by artist Giancarlo Mecarelli, hosted in the building’s outdoor gallery. Read article...

(ANSA) - IL CAIRO, 24 LUG - The Italian Ambassador to Senegal, Michele Tommasi, spoke at the first meeting of the National Steering Committee for the Parel/F project—an initiative funded by Italian Cooperation to strengthen the leadership and socioeconomic inclusion of women and girls in Senegal—to reaffirm Italy’s support for this initiative. The meeting was opened by the Chief of Staff of the Ministry of Family, Social Action, and Solidarity, Amadou Diaw, and by the Director of AICS Dakar, Giovanni Grandi, officially launching the project’s operational phase. This first meeting made it possible to establish the project’s governance structure. The meeting also provided an opportunity to define the strategic guidelines and approve the work plan that will guide the first phase of the project. In his remarks, the Ambassador noted that the partnership between Italy and Senegal is founded on a dialogue among equals, based on listening, mutual trust, and jointly defined priorities, following an approach that takes local realities into account to identify the most appropriate responses to the country’s needs. In this context, promoting gender equality and the social and economic empowerment of women and girls is a priority for Italian cooperation and a key driver of inclusive and sustainable development. (ANSA) - ZAGABRIA, 24 LUG - The Italian Ambassador to Croatia, Paolo Trichilo, spoke at the “Industry Day” organized by Fincantieri in Zagreb, with the support of the Embassy, with the aim of presenting the company to Croatian institutional and private-sector stakeholders and exploring opportunities for cooperation in the shipbuilding sector, with a particular focus on the defense industry. The initiative is part of Fincantieri’s recent interest in the Croatian market and the Croatian Navy’s modernization program. In the presence of representatives from the government, parliament, and Croatian institutions, as well as numerous local companies, opening remarks were delivered not only by the Ambassador but also by the Chair of the Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Hon. Andro Krstulović Opara; Minister Plenipotentiary Carlo Romeo, Head of International Institutional Affairs at Fincantieri; Mauro Manzini, Head of Sales for the Military Ships Division; and other company representatives. In his speech, Ambassador Trichilo expressed appreciation for the initiative, which has so far taken place in only a few strategic countries and is being held in Croatia at a time when bilateral relations have reached a very high level—both economically, with Italy as Croatia’s second-largest trading partner and among its leading investors, and politically, with the intensification of high-level meetings, including within the framework of Croatia’s rotating presidency of MED9 and the Three Seas Initiative, of which Italy has become a Strategic Partner this year. He then emphasized that further strengthening relations in the defense industry could benefit both countries in the current challenging international context and within the framework of greater cooperation in this sector, promoted by the EU and NATO, of which both Italy and Croatia are members. In this context, the maritime dimension is particularly significant, given that both countries are Mediterranean states and, specifically, Adriatic coastal states. He therefore expressed the hope that the “Industry Day” would yield concrete results for strengthening the common interests of Italy and Croatia, in full alignment with European and transatlantic objectives. The Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Krstulović Opara, expressed the hope that Fincantieri’s interest in Croatia would translate into concrete cooperation, allowing the already excellent relations between the two countries to grow further, even in strategic and high-tech fields such as security and defense. This, Hon. Krstulović Opara emphasized, will enable Italy and Croatia to work more effectively to protect their shared interests in the Adriatic Sea and within the broader framework of their shared EU membership. The initiative, which continued with B2B meetings with Croatian companies, allowed Fincantieri to highlight its role as a global leader in sustainable innovation and the digitalization of the shipbuilding and mechanical engineering sector, in both the civilian and military spheres. Regarding the Croatian Navy’s modernization program, Fincantieri has reaffirmed its interest in establishing a mutually beneficial partnership with Croatia that involves the local private sector, with positive impacts on the Croatian economy, particularly in terms of employment and technology transfer. The Italian Ambassador to Morocco, Pasquale Salzano, meets with the cadets aboard the ship Etna, which departed from Livorno on July 18 and is making its first stop in Tangier as part of a training campaign that will continue on to La Coruña, Brest, Dublin, Portsmouth, La Palice, Lisbon, and Cagliari, before returning to Livorno. “We live in a time when the sea has returned to the center of international politics. Trade, energy, security, and digital connections all pass through the sea. And it is increasingly on the sea that geopolitical balances are measured,” Ambassador Salzano tells the 132 cadets of the Livorno Naval Academy who are gaining practical experience through this mission. It is no coincidence, he says, that the first stop is Tangier, “a city increasingly at the center of the balance between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.” “For centuries a gateway to the Mediterranean and a meeting point between Europe and Africa, Tangier continues to remind us today that the sea is a space for encounter, trade, and dialogue, but also for strategic interests.” Every port will be different, Salzano continues, “and each will have something to teach you: about the sea, about people, and about the world in which you will be called upon to serve.” The ship’s motto, “Tenaciously Everywhere,” serves to highlight the history of the ETNA, “which reminds us that there is also a quiet heroism made up not only of extraordinary feats, but of preparedness, reliability, and the ability to be there when needed.” Then, addressing the officers, the crew, and Commander Alessandro De Lucia, Ambassador Salzano concluded: “Remember that a Navy officer represents Italy even when he or she does not utter a word. He or she does so through professionalism, conduct, and the respect shown toward others.” Read article...
